DHL, Milton Keynes Data Centre
Value: £430,000
Overview
DHL Supply Chain has broken ground on its new 215,000 sq ft warehouse at Snelshall, Milton Keynes.
The new multi-user facility will support a number of specialist contracts including the end-to-end supply chain management of uniforms for a number of UK police forces.
The new warehouse will feature several energy-saving measures: high levels of natural daylight will be provided to reduce the need for artificial lighting while the LED lighting system will be zoned and controlled via absence sensors.
Solar panels will be fitted to the roof and a heat transfer system will provide warm water to amenity areas. Rainwater will be harvested and used in toilets and external watering points while electric charging points will also be installed in staff car parks.
DHL Supply Chain UK and Ireland chief executive José Nava said: “We’re committed to providing market-leading solutions for our customers while minimising our impact on the environment. The Snelshall site will be industry-leading in many respects.”
Milton KEYNES is a new warehousing logistics centre which is state of the art with a fully automated high bay racking area and a 45-metre-tall warehouse with robotic forklifts operating inside.
